We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Maintenance Technician/Groundskeeper to join our team in the Louisville, KY area. This role combines general maintenance duties and groundskeeping responsibilities to ensure the property is well-maintained, safe, and visually appealing. The ideal candidate will be skilled in basic repair work, groundskeeping, and maintaining facilities to a high standard.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, lighting), troubleshooting minor issues and replacing worn-out fixtures.
  • Inspect, maintain, and ensure proper function of heating, cooling, and electrical systems.
  • Respond promptly to service requests from staff or residents and maintain accurate records of work and materials used.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Maintain the facility's grounds, including mowing, trimming, planting, watering, and clearing debris from pathways, parking areas, and outdoor spaces.
  • Operate landscaping equipment (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers).
  • Assist with the care of landscape features and upkeep of outdoor amenities.

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a maintenance technician, groundskeeper, or in a related role.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair work.
  • Experience with landscaping tools and equipment.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Occasional on-call availability may be necessary for emergencies.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness and ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in outdoor environments and inclement weather conditions.
  • Capable of operating maintenance and groundskeeping equipment safely.
